Tiger Yoon is the owner and repair man at Royesteel Shoe Repair on 207 South 5th street. Yoon is a former welder that started learning about shoe repair in 1986 when the welding business was slow. A friend suggested that he learned shoe repair. Yoon has been working with shoes ever since. Business has picked up with the bad economy Yoon said. People want to get there shoes repaired instead of purchasing new ones. Yoon doesn't just work on shoes he repairs just about anything including zippers, leather items, and purses. "a lot of people dont want to work with shoes because they think its a dirty job, i don't mind it." Yoon said.
